报告摘要:
Safety, reliability and
economics of current and future nuclear reactors greatly depends on properties
of materials used in their components. Continuous search for more reliable
materials, which can operate well at nominal operational conditions and
withstand possible accidents, is carrying out. After Fukushima accident,
development on accident tolerant fuels has been accelerated. Although zirconium
alloys have been successfully applied in fuel claddings, their weakness in case
severe accident conditions is a serious point of concern. New candidate
materials are necessary. In the present talk, I will review research and development
on ternary compounds, called MAX phases, toward their application in nuclear
energy field. Our approach to synthesize and evaluate properties of MAX phases
will be introduced as well.
